A view from the outside

16 March 2018 · Head Teacher's blog

We undertook our first Multi Academy Trust peer review this week. We invited a team of National Leaders of Education to come and explore how we work as a organisation - to look at our systems, meet our people and try to understand how the whole thing works. Even before the feedback, just the process of putting the schedule together enabled me to have a look at things critically, from the outside. Very useful indeed. Secondly, getting the feedback was incredibly important. As leaders, we are always focussed on our gaps - knowing the potential weaknesses and working to improve them. To have an extremely knowledgable team from the outside come to look at us was so helpful in celebrating our strengths and the progress we have made in such a short space of time – so easily overlooked! The feedback was very positive indeed - as I suspected, it was the people and their passion - that really impressed. As soon as the full report is available, I will be learning and sharing widely!
