Back in time....and looking to the future
28 September 2017 · Head Teacher's blog
Last Friday during the open mornings, I bumped into one of my ex students from the days when I taught English GCSE and A'Level at King Edward VII School, a few years ago now. I was so excited!! We remembered some of the lessons and students in the group. For me, when you are teaching, you build a relationship with a class that lasts for ever. Even though my student is now a mother of an eleven year old, in my eyes she is still fifteen. I felt as protective as I ever did and we remembered the feeling in the class, the in jokes, the mutual support, the laughter. I believe that teaching is the biggest thrill and privilege. Although it made me feel undoubtedly old, I also felt so privileged to be able to serve the community in this way.
