using social media

Using Social Media Networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ can be an effective way of showcasing your skills, qualifications and experience.  It is not unusual for employers to seek out potential candidates’ online profiles, even before offering work experience placements, college places, or apprenticeship offers. It is their way of finding out a little more about you.

As a rule, if you do not want potential employers reading unsavoury language, or seeing embarrassing photos, either do not post these items or keep them within friendship groups. Always remember: people have been dismissed from their jobs because of unfortunate posts to Facebook and Twitter!
