Year 9 Art Workshop

Lisa Webb, Professional Artist from CLS (Creative Learning Services) came into JFC today to deliver an Art Workshop to a group of Year 9 students. The workshop involved looking at insect specimens and large photos of beetles then drawing them. Lisa inspired our students illustrating with her own drawing and then sharing techniques and helping students to develop their own style. Students went on to create and design a steampunk style insect with the option of adding clock-work mechanisms and cogs to the drawing.

Fantastic artwork was created in the workshop by the Year 9’s. Well done and thank you Lisa.

Below are some quotes from the students about the workshop:

I found it great fun. I love drawing and this was something outside what I would normally do.

It was something new and fun.

I enjoyed all of it – it was brilliant.

It increased my drawing confidence.

It was great, such fun.

I really enjoyed it and found it relaxing.
