Extra-Curricular
Extra-Curricular Programme
It is important to us at John Ferneley College to encourage students to develop as well-rounded individuals with great experiences: this will, in turn, help them to grow as young adults and challenge them to become better leaders and organisers, be resilient, independent and confident.
As a school, we have always offered many extra-curricular activities and clubs for students with numerous trips and educational visits and are looking to build on our existing programmes to incorporate this into all aspects of student life.
All after-school clubs take place from 3.05pm - 4.05pm. If a club requires a later finish e.g., performance rehearsal or sports fixture, this will be communicated home in advance.
Trips and Visits
At John Ferneley, we are committed to offering all students a variety of opportunities to take part in extra-curricular, enrichment activities and visits. We view this as a core component of our offer to all students at the school.
They range from local, day trips, to week-long international trips. Over the past few years, our students have visited New York, Borneo, Iceland and France on our cultural and curriculum trips. Students have also taken part in UK-based trips, including outdoor adventurous activity trips to Mount Cook and Condover Hall.
All of our trips are character building and focused on giving the very best life experiences to students outside of the classroom. Our trip process makes it fair and transparent when applying to gain a place on a trip and we offer affordable payment plans to help families spread the cost.
Please note our trips offer is regularly reviewed and updated throughout the academic year, with new trips and opportunities always becoming available.
