Physical Education

Curriculum Intent Overview

Our PE curriculum supports the physical, social, and emotional development of all students, inspiring a lifelong love of physical activity and equipping them with the skills and values needed for a healthy, active lifestyle.

At Key Stage 3, students take part in a wide range of sports and activities, developing physical literacy alongside teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Lessons also focus on broader aspects of personal development such as character, confidence, and wellbeing.

Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to support progression from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4, with pupils building on core skills and applying them to increasingly complex situations, techniques, and strategies.

Beyond the classroom, students benefit from a broad extracurricular programme, offering opportunities for both recreational and competitive sports. Through active participation, students develop key life skills and a strong sense of personal achievement, helping them to thrive in school and beyond.
