Business Studies
Curriculum Intent Overview
Our Business Studies curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in understanding the business world, starting in Year 7. Students explore key topics like entrepreneurship, marketing, recruitment, and personal finance, developing essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. As they progress through the curriculum, students apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios, such as designing business proposals and pitching ideas.
The curriculum is structured to ensure smooth progression from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4, aligning with the Edexcel GCSE specification. Students are introduced to key business concepts and exam techniques early on, reinforcing their learning through regular assessments and retrieval-based activities.
Business Studies equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for future careers in finance, marketing, and human resources. By incorporating real-world examples and community-focused projects, we ensure that students develop a practical understanding of business, preparing them for success in both education and the workplace.
